Olly Mann is a writer, broadcaster, narrator and voiceover artist.

One of Britain’s most established and celebrated podcasters, he currently hosts weekly news show The Week Unwrapped (Podcast of the Year, PPA Awards); monthly magazine programme The Modern Mann (Podcast of the Year, ARIAs Silver); daily history digest Today in History with The Retrospectors (Best Daily Show, British Podcast Awards nominee), and twice-weekly science series Why?

For BBC Radio 4, he has fronted two series of The Male Room and nine of Four Thought; co-hosted six weeks of Saturday Live and two-part documentary series Podcasting: The First Ten Years; and episodes of The Media Show and Archive on 4. Prior to this, at LBC, he hosted hundreds of hours of live phone-in radio, including election coverage and major breaking news. He has also guest-presented on Magic, 5 Live, and the national evening programme across BBC local radio.

He began podcasting in 2007, creating interactive comedy show Answer Me This! with Helen Zaltzman. The series ran for 400 episodes over 15 years, achieved over 30 million downloads, won a Sony Radio Academy Award, and was published as a book by Faber. In 2021, Helen and Olly were awarded the inaugural Gold Award at the British Podcast Awards, in recognition of their impact and longevity.

Olly’s other presenting credits include video series The Week In The Wild for Nat Geo WILD; the Screenwriters Lectures series for BAFTA; 'Tip The Scales’, a six-part series about weight-loss for Audible Originals; and long tenures anchoring The Media Podcast and Tech Weekly for The Guardian.

Olly is a popular host at live events and conferences, having chaired panels and Q&As for The Edinburgh International Television Festival, NextRadio, WebSummit, Soho House, the Midtown Big Ideas Exchange, Nottingham Business Expo, Radio Festival, Royal Television Society, and Cheltenham Science Festival. He has guest-lectured at Sheffield Hallam University, Bournemouth University, RIG Train, the University for the Creative Arts, Dagbladet Information Copenhagen, and the Centre for Podcasting Excellence at City University.

He has hosted ceremonies including the British Podcast Awards, the University of Northampton’s Changemaker Awards, and the European Software Testing Awards; and guest-presented awards at the Audio and Radio Industry Awards (ARIAs) and the Audio Production Awards.

As a voiceover artist, he has worked with brands including Skoda, B&Q and Dyson, and presented sponsored podcasts for clients including Barclays Premier Banking, Microsoft, American Express and the China-Britain Business Council.

As a narrator, his voice can been heard online reading articles for The Atlantic, Financial Times; Psyche and The Guardian; and narrating the audiobook edition of ‘End State’ by James Plunkett.

His long-running personality column, 'It's A Mann's World', has opened each issue of Reader's Digest UK since 2016. He has also written for Telegraph Men, The Observer and The Week.

Olly read English at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford. Originally hailing from Stanmore, he now lives in Hertfordshire with his wife, two sons, cat, dog, two chickens, and, at the last count, three goldfish.
